1st Annual "Follow the Roman Road" 5k Run/Walk

hosted by COWAN FIRST BAPTIST youth

STARTING TIMES

7:00 AM: Registration begins

8:00AM: 5K Run/Walk starts-Cowan First Baptist Church

9:00AM or until the last finisher : Awards

COURSE

Run/Walk will start from Cowan First Baptist Church where runners/walkers will then experience the many features of beautiful, historic Cowan for the next 3.1 miles. The Cowan Police Department will be providing traffic control.

FINISH TIMES AND RESULTS

There is no timing mat at the start line, so there will not be chip timing. All finish times will be “gun” times. Timing clocks will be provided. All top finisher’s results will be announced at the awards ceremony and all results will be posted at a later date.

AWARDS

All awards will be presented after the race at Cowan First Baptist Church. Trophies will be awarded for the male and female top finishers overall. Medals will be awarded for the top three finishers male and female in the following age groups: 0-8, 9-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+

REGISTRATION AND FEES

Pre-registration cost: $15.00 (If payment is received before April 25, 2012)

Late and day-of registration cost: $20.00

ALL PROCEEDS BENEFIT COWAN FIRST BAPTIST YOUTH CAMP AND ACTIVITIES

All pre-registered participants will receive a short sleeved t-shirt. (Only entries received on or before April 25, 2012 are guaranteed a t-shirt.)

Payment must accompany each entry form and make all checks payable to “Cowan First Baptist Youth”

RACE WAIVER

I, individually, (and/or parent/guardian of the named minor) for and in consideration of acceptance of this entry in the aforementioned event, do hereby release, remise, waive, and forever discharge the Cowan First Baptist Youth and any other supporting groups of this said racing event, together with all their officers, agents, officials, and employees, from and all liability, claims, demand, actions, or cause of action whatsoever arising out of, or relating to injury, illness, loss, or damage, including death, relating to participation in this event. I further state I am in proper physical condition to participate in this event. In addition, I agree that my participation in this event requires that I do not participate with rollerblades, skateboards, animals or anything which the race director deems dangerous to myself or other participants and that the race director may remove me from this event for a violation of said policy. I further grant permission to this race and the host organization and/or agents authorized by the hosts to use any photographs, videotapes, or motion picture recordings and any other record of this event for any purpose. I also understand that if the event is cancelled for any reason that all entry fees are non-refundable and that this entry is non-transferrable
