On Tuesday, May 21st, Faithful Encouragers have a change of schedule and location for this month. Instead of traveling on Tuesday, May 21st to the Chattanooga Zoo, we will instead meet on Monday, May 20th to travel to Nashville Zoo. This day is designated as SENIOR DAY. All seniors, ages 65 & over, will have FREE admission. All those under the age of 65 will need to pay Ann Glover $10 for admission. There will be a FREE CONCERT given by some of 2012's Silver Stars finalists, as well as previous winners. Paul Wells.
Paul Wells, ("Florence's boy"), who is a Cowan native, will be one of the featured performers. Please meet in the Chapel at 8:15 am for devotional and prayer. We will be eating a late group lunch or early dinner after we leave the zoo. You may want to bring a snack. Snacks may also be purchased at the zoo.
Tuesday, June 18th, is a dutch treat lunch at the Bell Buckle Cafe, in historic Bell Buckle, TN. Meet in the Chapel at 9:30 a.m. for prayer and devotional.
On Tuesday, July 16th, meet in the Chapel at 9:30 a.m. for prayer and devotional. We will then head to Front Cafe in Normandy, TN. Total cost is $15.00 for an all-you-can-eat buffet, including tip. NOTE: BECAUSE THE OWNER IS OPENING THE RESTAURANT JUST FOR US ON THIS DAY, WE MUST HAVE 25 PEOPLE PREPAY ANN BY MONDAY, JULY 1ST. If we don't have the prerequisite 25 people, not to worry; we'll have a back-up plan.
Tuesday, August 20th: Meet in the Chapel at 9:30 a.m. for prayer and devotional. We'll then head to Miller's Grocery in Christiana, TN for lunch. Dutch treat.
Sunday, September 8th, is Senior Adult Sunday at church. After AM worship, we will travel to Tim's Ford State Park for a picnic lunch. Doyle Coulson and his bluegrass group will be our special entertainment.
Tuesday, September 17th is a day you won't want to miss! We are going to enjoy a special time of Days Gone By. Meet in the Chapel at 9:00 a.m. for prayer and devotional. We will then head over to Etheridge, TN, to visit the Amish community. You will have the opportunity to enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride for $10. We will eat lunch at the Brass Lantern in Lawrenceburg.
October 28th and 29th are the dates for our 2nd annual overnight trip. We will travel to Pigeon Forge and enjoy the Hatfields and McCoys dinner show, as well as the Blackwood Brothers Gospel Show and breakfast. After breakfast, we will take a tour of Cades Cove. Cost for your room, dinner and a show, and breakfast and a show will be $85.00 if the room is shared; $100.00 if you do not share a room. Deposit dates and more details are forthcoming.
We are going to Nashville on Tuesday, November 19th! We are going to tour the Christmas lights display at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. The display begins at 4:00 p.m., so rest up! We will be getting home LATE!
We will be traveling to Crossville, TN, on Tuesday, December 3rd, to the Cumberland County Playhouse. On the playbill that day is The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Eat breakfast at home. We will be leaving the church promptly at 8:00 a.m.! We'll eat lunch, after the play, at the Cumberland State Park. Details are forthcoming!
